THE BEST BRAINS OF TURKEY COMPETED TO BE ABLE TO COMPETE IN LAS VEGAS

"Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Mental Arithmetic Championship" and "Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Memory Mental Mathematics and Fast Reading Championship" organized by The Federation of World Mental Sports were held in Ankara, Turkey on September 5-6, 2015..) In the championships, one World Record, one European Record and two Turkey records were broken.) Can Atay Örken earned the Second Place following Japanese Naofumi Ogasawara, who had the First Place in the category of Flash Anzan in Mental Arithmetics.

On the first day of Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Memory, Mental Arithmetics, sponsored by the "Organisation of Intelligence Games", the "Organisation of Fast Reading", the "Organisation fo Mental Arithmetics, Mega Hafiza, Doga College, Batıkent, Ankara, and "Mega Vitamin". Totally, 256 competitors competed in Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Memory, Mental Arithmetics.v Among the competitors, there were 119 girls between the ages of 5 and 12 who won the preliminary elimation and who joined the competition from all over Turkey. It has been observed that the number of the girls who have been interested in Brain Sports has been gardually increasing although they are generally types of sports in which boys are interested more throughout the world.

The Championship was open for the competitors from other countires in the world, so Kazakh and Mongolian competitors also joined the competition this year. The first day ended with the highest degrees of 13 children who won the right of joining in the category of "Mental Aritmetic Flas Anzan" together with the adult competitors in Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Mental Arithmetics. The best degree was earned by Can Atay Örken, aged 11, from Turkey.

On the second day of the Competition was held Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Mental Mathematics and Fast Reading Championship The Championship consisted of eleven categories open to all the countries worldwide. Among 35 males and 16 females, there were 9 competitors from abroad; there were 6 competitors from Mongolia and 3 competitiors from Kazakhistan. Besides, totally 99 brains aged between 5-12 competed in the Championship; 13 of them joined the competition on the first day, and the rest, 48 children, competed on the second day Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Memory Mental Mathematics and Fast Reading Championship was carried out in eleven categories with the results below;

Not any degree was earned in the category of Fast Reading and Comprehension. Still, Japanese Naofumi Ogasawara broke World and European Records in the World List. He was followed by Can Atay Örken, aged 11 from İstanbul, as the Second Place in the World List and as the First Place in Flash Anzan in the Championship. Eda Tüzün, aged 16, in the category of Numbers Marathon Memory Power, Dinçer Özdemir, aged 34, in the category of Names and Faces Memory Power and Serhat Şentürk, aged 31, from Kocaeli, in the category of Binary Numbers Memory Power were the First Places. Tarık Kiki, aged 17 from Ankara, broke the Record of Turkey in the category of Playing Cards Memory Power.

In the category of Flash Numbers Memory Power, Efe Gökhan Gürsu, aged 14 from İstanbul, broke the record of Turkey by keeping 72 numbers in his memory, which were displayed on the screen subsequently in one second without making any mistake and he became the champion in this category. Burak Bilgin, aged 14 from Isparta, who broke the Record of Turkey in the category of Mental Addition, also earned the First Place in the category of Mental Multiplication, Besides, the champion was Açelya Özçelik, aged 13 from Isparta, in the category of Mental Square Roots, and Khatanbaar Khandsuren, aged 32 from Mongolia, was the champion in the category of Mental Calendar Dates.

The brains who had degrees in Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Mental Arithmetic Championship and Memoriad 2015 Turkey Open Memory Mental Mathematics and Fast Reading Championship organized by The Federation of World Mental Sports earned the right of joining in Las Vegas 2016 World Brain Olympics, The chairman of Memoriad, Turkey, Melik Duyar, affirmed that a great number of brains from Turkey have the capacity of joining in Las Vegas 2016 World Brain Olympics, where the best 300 brains from all over the world will compete.
