MENTAL SQUARE ROOT WORLD RECORD AND WCWC 2010

On March 20, 2010 in Ankara, Turkey, under withness of Memoriad Comittee and Middle East Tecnical University Mathematics Community, Hakan Gurbaslar broke mental square roots world record with the score of 6 minutes and 37 seconds.

Hakan Gurbaslar, trying to find square roots of ten six digit numbers created randomly by memoriad software, made up to 10 trials and he succeded breaking the mental square root world record in his ninth trial. His trial numbers and each scores of trials including world record are as follows;

Memoriad Chairman Melik Duyar also announced that Memoriad 2012 will be held in Antalya, Turkey and Memoriad Comitte is also the prize sponsor of the 4th Mental Calculation World Cup that will be held on 5 – 7 June, 2010 in Magdeburg, Germany.

In MCWC 2010, The best competitors for the categories addition, multiplication, roots and calendar will be awarded the title "World Cup Winner". They will also be given free flight and hotel to the MEMORIAD 2012 competition (see http://www.memoriad .com). The title "World Cup Winner - most versatile calculator" will be awarded to the calculator with the best score in the surprise tasks. The title "World Cup Winner - Combination" will be awarded to the calculator with the best aggregate score in all categories. The "MEMORIAD Trophy - fastest calculator" will be given to the calculator with the best aggregate score in the categories addition, multiplication, roots and calendar. The winner of the MEMORIAD Trophy will also get free flight and hotel to the MEMORIAD 2012 competition.
